The Accademia Gallery in Venice is a museum that gathers the most important works of the art of Venice, mostly relating to the period from the 14th to the 18th century. Among the represented artist we find Giorgione, Bellini, Carpaccio, Tintoretto and Tiziano. We find also other form of art as sculptures and drawing, and among the drawings there is the “Uomo Vitruviano” of Leonardo da Vinci and it is conserved inside the Room of Drawings of the Accademia. The work is a drawing made with ink and pencil and it shows the human proportions in a geometric way and it is accompanied by two explicative texts. One is on the upper part of the drawing and one at the bottom, and they are both two passage from Vitruvio. The drawing is an homage to the classical thinking and it represents a relation between art and science. The “Uomo Vitruviano” was chosen by Carlo Azeglio Ciampi to appear on the 1 Euro coin.
